plants quake when we walk by  ... honest!

Sunday 20th July

3 more days at school!!!!!!!!

It's all manic ATM getting everything done and dusted for next term, Im moving into Year 3, ( as an LSA not a pupil  - just thought Id clarify that !)  so that will be a whole new ball game!

Trying to get sorted at home too, with  DIY projects around the house  and trips and things to do with the boys - I know this holiday will fly by, plus Cam needs a timetable or he looses the plot big time ( as do I if Im totally honest) so we all need to get organised to make the most of it!

Picking up hubby from the train station soon, need to get him in a good mood as I'll be telling him I've gotten a man in to quote to do the bathroom - ( this was supposed to been last year but 2 times B&Q 'lost' part of the order and hubby ran out of holidays)

With the bath finally  leaking into the kitchen last month (fixed now) it was the final straw  -   so I've declared war on the bathroom  it will be done over this holiday ..... oh yes it will ...   and then boys, we can take over the world!

Oh and I've updated the beads, and  played abit with some of the bigger sets - same price more choice...  X

12th July

Hello!

Have just updated the site with some new beads  and re done a few photos

Been an age since my last update I know  - but I've had major 'nesting ' problems with the off room

It's still all fab but I found the the clear insulated plastic ceiling  ( there is a technical term for it but Im damned if I can remember it!)

It was just too bright and when it was sunny and during the afternoons I'd get flashing lights from all the daylight so would have to stop

Problem is now sloved by painting said ceiling -  we tried blinds and covers, but due to the slope etc it just wasn't practical

Paint was the only option! all sorted now and back to playing.......

I've also gotton round to having my own 'customers gallery'  so please have a look see

Also if you have any piccys of items done with my beads then please send them to me so I can add them

Right back to the beads

Been having fun with dichroic and etching....   there are sets and a couple of focals

Im hoping the next lot of updates will be copper mesh - they were planned for this update but as the ones I did yesterday all cracked ( this is all part of the fun of lampworking honest!!! Ggggrrrrrr)

it make be a while before they hit the website fully checked and cracked free

Now......   is it a copper impurity, glass and copper incompatabilty or annealing problem... ????????????

I have a rough idea and will certainly be playing with the idea cos they did look good!

any way  it's late and the cats are telling me that it's time for bed..

Hello

Thanks for all the comments about the shed !

A few sets have sold ( many thanks) but not to fret as Im working on some more!

Had a great couple of days with the boys, inspired by Ray Mears and River Cottage we went Crayfishing On Sunday

.... got Very Very Muddy and I caught 2 tiny fish!   - no American Signal Cray though.

Went yesterday after school with a bigger net and Bacon ( re a tip from a bloke we met on Sunday) and caught a springer spaniel!

- well Ok not so much as caught but the bloom'ing dog gobbled the bacon the boys had left on the bank Grrrrrrr

Luckily we have some in the nets and after a while we actaully caught one!   and yep he was a biggun!!!!

Vicious little things - though quite pretty top is brown muddy colour but underneath they have a very delicate Blue tinge in places and red palms or claws

Boys affectionately called him 'dinner' ....  and after a while it was obvoious that that was all we were going to catch  - I think somehow the cheers of catching 'dinner' and Cam getting knee deep in the river bank kinda warned the others off .

Popped 'Dinner' in the freezer after given him a wash and then boiled him for 5 mins and he was delicious!

I have to say that I was surprised at how 'unsqueamish' the boys were..   they have always been up for trying new things if in the right frame of mind but I was prepared for objections of cooking 'dinner' etc etc ....

I heard Cam say  as he cleared his plate in the kitchen ' Sorry Dinner, hope your family don't miss you ... but you were delicious'

They can't wait to go again this time with rods and dog proof bacon!

They want chickens now

Hello again!

Well the off room is all up and running and I have had a few plays!

It's really good and I love it! - though it;s all a bit odd as Im working in daylight rather than a dark shed  not sure how it will work in bright daylight - but then thats all part of the fun

I have a few piccys - they show how small it is - it's Very difficult to get a clear piccy that shows it all

Before

This is the view from the lounge and shows it in it;s usual state - a dumping ground for tools and junk usually wood!

This is it now

View from the lounge door now! Kiln and torch ( just)

View from the window  - you can see the door to the lounge

Note the new shiny Extracter at the top

93 Coe glass above or to my left as I work, 100 Coe glass to my right  - see that's why I stick to Plowden and Thompson  2 types of glass left and right!

The rest of the rods are kept in a drawer cabinet in the box under the kiln

Compact and bijou  -  sitting on the stool in the center of the room I can actually touch all four walls with out over reaching - which is great actually everything is within reach!!!

I love it and yes it will always be that tidy - I have to have everything tidy - it's a dyslexic thing...

.... though if it makes you feel better  the rest of the house is totally unorganized !

So thats whats been keeping me busy recently amongst other things...

So thats it from me    ..... Oh and while I think of it,  there are new beads ready, and remember theres no postage.

Enjoy!!!

Hello

my very nice man caller John sent he's even nicer young man  called Terry round to do me off room!

It all works!!!

ATM It looks very clean, very shiny and very empty.

The lounge on the other hand looks like a bombs hit it - with tools and general junk stacked everywhere ....

I now have the dubious pleasure of lugging every thing from the shed to the off room and vice versa and try to make everything 'fit' especially as the new bench is a foot shorter -  something which if Im honest fills me with dread as I hate change and find it unsettling .

It'll be well worth it though , and will be fun 'nesting'

Thanks to all of you who emailed me their comments on me holyhocks etc

There Will me more

New beads have been done I just need to take piccys etc

Laters  - I have a shed to unload !

PS cos some of my sets seem to be getting bigger and as a result more expensive - I've decided not to charge for postage   HTH
